These Indian Muslim schoolgirls, all aged between 10 and 16 years old, are performing Vovinam, a Vietnamese martial art, at the Saint Maaz High School in Hyderabad. Encouraged by their parents and school officials, they are learning the art of self defense on a weekly basis.
This is a demonstration of Philia, the deep friendship between women and the love of Femmeliness.
Discipline in training is necessary to develop the self defense skills that can be used to protect ourselves and others in a fight. They are learned and taught together, not alone.
