What I love about this is it was purely for his own benefit. Thor couldn’t hear him, there was no audience, he’s just sassing to amuse himself.

Given how he was treated in the first film, he probably is very used to being the only one to appreciate his humor and mostly does it to amuse himself. Now I made myself sad.
