“Slipped through the filters” as if there are effective filters to begin with.
A safe mode that seems decent on the surface but flags things like kittens and meme videos as nsfw, while also allowing porn to go unflagged? Nuking LGBT related tags (if my memory serves correctly)? Nuking external links which only ended up hurting content creators, then this most recent “glitch” where INTERNAL links don’t work either? Meanwhile pornbots are still flooding the tags and blogs run by honest to god pedophiles are allowed to spread their shit while the legitimate users who report this shit get hit with the “just block them” treatment, or even wrongfully lose their blogs entirely.
Over the years I’ve reported pedophiles in tags that I frequent and I can probably count on one hand the amount of times anything came of it. I’ve also reported Nazis, another group that the Tumblr user base has been begging for action against, and the same result applies. There are no “filters” through which these things slip through the cracks, just lazy, uninspired countermeasures that are either ineffective, counterproductive, or both.
There’s a problem, and staff has done fuck all to fix it.
